Meet the locals

We catch up with Gabriella Stevens from Jack’s Point Realty

Gabriella, who is originally from England, came to Queenstown eight years ago and like many visitors she fell in love with the place and decided to make it her home.

“Having a place where you can work within sales and work within a community, where you can get to know everyone on a personal level and create lasting relationships, is quite rare and special.”

What do you love about your role at Jack’s Point?

What’s not to love! I’m not limited to just being an agent – I’m here to provide information on the whole of Jack’s Point and help anyone who walks in the door.

We have an amazing spot onsite here, located within the Clubhouse itself. People wander in before lunch or after playing golf, so our position lends itself to getting to know the locals. There’s a beautiful community feel about it, and it’s a growing community too. At this stage we have around 700 residents and 400 homes completed.

It’s so nice being just outside the heart of Queenstown but within a close distance, and such a peaceful, tranquil environment to work in.

What do you think sets Jack’s Point apart?

The way the built-environment has been masterfully planned, and the ground carefully contoured makes it unparalleled within Queenstown.

There’s a real connection to the water – both Lake Tewa and Lake Wakatipu – and a connection to the land and the golf course, too.

How do you spend your time off?

I’ve been playing golf for a number of years. I bought land here in 2014 and that’s where my appreciation for Jack’s Point started. I joined the golf course as a member and learned how to play.

Being close to skifields and winter sports is another bonus. I’m certainly no pro-skier, but I love to get onto the snow. Hiking is a big hobby too. We’re very spoilt with the number of walking trails in this part of the world.

What’s your take on the property market in this region?

Queenstown is a very strong market, and a unique market as well, reflected in property values throughout the region. Now we are helping to meet the demand, with the launch of Jack’s Point Village and neighbouring areas.
