Accountant

Due to an internal promotion we are looking for a suitably experienced Accountant to work on site here at Jacks Point, Queenstown.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a tertiary qualification in accounting, a strong financial and management accounting background and previous experience in budgeting, month-end and year-end reporting, tax compliance, financial analysis and account reconciliations. You will be proficient with Microsoft Office applications, have intermediate-to-advanced spreadsheet skills, and experience in using computerised financial management systems.

Reporting to the Finance & Administration Manager the key functions of this role include:

  • Maintaining complete and accurate financial and project accounting information.
  • Coordinating budget compilation/reviews, analysing variances and supporting Project & Job Managers to prepare and manage budgets.
  • Preparing monthly/annual financial reports and analysis of various entities and projects within the Group..
  • Preparing monthly GST and other IRD returns, and assisting with preparing end of year tax returns.

Cost Control Administrator

This is a full time accounting and administration position with a strong emphasis on cost analysis and lots of variety based on site at Jacks Point, Queenstown.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a sound understanding of accounting fundamentals with previous hands-on experience in bookkeeping/accounts work, account reconciliations, budgeting and variance analysis. You will be proficient with Microsoft Office applications, having good-to-intermediate level spreadsheet skills, and be familiar in using computerised financial management systems.

Reporting to the Finance & Administration Manager the key functions of this role include:

  • Administration of the project cost control system, ensuring it is a complete and accurate record of project accounting information.
  • Preparing various project cost reports, analysing variances and supporting Project & Job Managers manage project budgets.
  • Maintaining property information registers and liaising with owners.
  • Maintaining bank and inventory ledgers, and assisting the Accountant with reporting and budgeting processes.
